Tesla CEO Elon Musk said his company’s lower-priced Model three electrified car will go on sale on Friday.
Musk wrote on Twitter on Monday that the company was two weeks ahead of schedule.

Today, Tesla exposed Version eight of its Autopilot software, going live in one to two weeks. Version 8.0 includes updates to the signal processing tech used to interpret photos received from the onboard radar. The update concentrates primarily on the radar component of the Autopilot sensor system, turning it from a supplementary part of the overall tech, designed to complement the cameras, into a primary control sensor that, according to Elon Musk himself, should prevent accidents like the one that resulted in Josh Brown’s death. When Sue Ann Calmeyer of Sebastopol got a recall notice about the defective airbag inflator in her Honda Fit last month, she was tempted to throw it aside. Until she read the warning.
It said if the airbag deployed, the inflator could rupture and «metal fragments could pass through the airbag cushion material, possibly causing serious injury or fatality to you or others in the vehicle.»
