Car thieves in SA police glances

The National Motor Vehicle Theft Reduction Council, SA Police and Crime Stoppers have teamed up for a three-pronged attack that includes a dedicated phone-in day today for callers to help stall motor vehicle theft.

Crime Stoppers SA chair Sharon Hanlon said in 2013/14 almost one thousand vehicles in South Australia were believed stolen and converted to profit through rebirthing, sale of parts or scrap metal. Read more

Booby-trap blast injures former Greek PM Papademos

ATHENS (Reuters) – A former Greek prime minister was injured when a booby-trapped package exploded in his car in central Athens on Thursday in the worst act of violence targeting politicians in the crisis-hit country for several years.

Lucas Papademos, who served a brief stint as caretaker prime minister in late two thousand eleven to mid-2012, did not have life menacing injuries, authorities said. Read more
