Renault Kwid
The Renault Kwid is an entry-level crossover [1] produced by the French car manufacturer Renault, originally intended for the Indian market. [Two] [Trio] [Four] The production version was unveiled in May 2015. A concept version was previously unveiled in February 2014. A revised Brazilian version was put into production in 2017.

The Kwid has been elaborated by a French engineers team lodged in India by Gérard Detourbet, a mathematician described as “an innovation a minute” [Five] who led the development team for the first-generation Renault Logan.

The Kwid is the very first car to be based on the fresh CMF-A platform jointly developed by Renault and Nissan. [Two] It is slightly larger than Renault’s smallest conventional vehicle, the Twingo [Trio] with a high sitting position and a one hundred eighty mm (7.1 in) rail height. At launch, the engine was a single three-cylinder, eight hundred cc unit [6] with a fifty four hp (40 kW) power output and seventy two N·m (53 lb·ft) torque, coupled to a 5-speed manual transmission. [7] Suspension is made up of McPherson struts on front and a torsion slat on rear. [8] The car has a significant percentage of parts localisation and engineering by local Renault’s personnel. It was unveiled at Chennai on twenty May two thousand fifteen by Renault’s CEO Carlos Ghosn. According to the Indian newspaper The Financial Express, Kwid’s 300-litre boot space is “the most voluminous in its class” [Four] and its fuel efficiency is “class-leading”, [Four] at 25.17 km/L (71.1 mpg‑imp). The Kwid comes with as many as sixty accessories for detailed personalisation. [Four] It will come with a two year/50,000 km warranty, for a price from Rs Two.56 lakh for the Kwid STD, to Three.53 lakh for the Kwid RXT (O). [12]
At tests conducted in 2016, the Kwid scored a 0-star rating from British agency Global NCAP, a rating also achieved by many entry-level competitors in the Indian market, including localised versions of the Suzuki Alto, the Hyundai Eon, the Tata Nano, the Suzuki Celerio and the Ford Figo. The Kwid was also criticised for being one of the Indian models not having airbags as standard. Renault and other car manufacturers made protestations to Global NCAP for its methodology and for disregarding India’s own safety criteria. [13]
The Renault Kwid 1.0-litre with automatic transmission produces sixty seven BHP at five thousand five hundred RPM and ninety one Nm at four thousand two hundred fifty RPM. According to MotorBeam VBOX texting, the Kwid AMT does the 0-100 km/hr sprint in 17.26 seconds. [14]

Renault applied for the Kwid racer and Kwid climber trademarks, what makes observers expect some fresh variants of the Kwid after October 2015.
Indonesia Edit
Launched in October 2016, Renault Kwid RxT 1.0 SCE (4X2) M/T, 999cc three cylinders sixty eight HP at Five.500 RPM and torsion ninety one Nm at Four.250 RPM [15] [16]
In 2017, a heavly revised version of the Kwid commenced production at the Renault’s Renault do Brasil plant in Brazil. To serve with stricter Brazilian regulations, the localised version has various structural reinforcements and four airbags as standard which made its weight go up eighty eight kg compared to the Indian version. This version only offers a 1-litre inline-three petrol engine. [17]
