Man killed in Greene County car accident identified
DAYTON, Ohio (WDTN) – One person is dead in a car accident Friday evening.
The Ohio State Highway Patrol has identified the victim as Walter V. Cherwinski, 88, of Centerville, Ohio. Cherwinski was traveling northbound on State Route seventy two near mile post eleven when he crashed at approximately Five:05 p.m. Friday.
It happened near the intersection of State Route seventy two and Wolford Road in Greene County.
A witness says Cherwinski was going side to side on the highway when he swerved into a pole.
Officials say the pole is split in half and Double penetration&L says they will check it out.
A medical experienced performed CPR on a victim but The Greene County Coroner confirmed that the man died at the scene.
He was not wearing his seatbelt at the time of the crash.
