1 dead in multi-car crash in Cobb County
Updated: Oct 29, two thousand fifteen – 11:02 AM
MARIETTA, Ga. – Police are investigating a deadly crash that shut down a busy intersection in Cobb County Thursday morning.
Witnesses say a Dodge Durango drifted into oncoming traffic and collided with a box truck on Bells Ferry Road near Wallace Road around 8:30 a.m.
The driver of the Durango was killed instantly.
«Once the driver hit the 2nd truck, which was a box truck, it just kind of dismantled the vehicle and caused serious injury to the driver southbound and he was deceased at the scene,” said Cobb County police spokesperson Alicia Chilton.
Police say they are investigating if the driver may have been dispelled leading up to the crash.
Two other vehicles were also involved in the crash and suffered minor injuries but refused transport.
The victim’s identity has not yet been released.
